AMHERST WAYS AND MEANS COMMITTEE COMMENTS
This warrant article allows the district to raise up to $770,585 in new taxation to fund the purchase and installation of a portable building housing two classrooms. This portable building will be used to alleviate space constraints at Wilkins School. This portable building can also be used in any construction or renovation project in the future, offsetting the cost. This is a fiscally responsible way of adding space in the near term while ensuring the portable building’s future use can also offset costs of potential projects.
